I’m thrilled to announce that Designing Interface Animation is officially out in the world as of today! I really hope you like it.

For all you web designers and developers out there who want to use motion in your work and do it well–I wrote this book for you. If you’ve been struggling with how to design animation effectively in your work, how to include animation that adds to the experience, or how to make animation part of your design process, this book offers a guide on how.

Designing Interface Animations is a crash course in interface animation and motion design theory for web designers, UX designers, and front-end developers. It will provide solid thinking and resources for creating animations that have both purpose and style in your own work.

We’re starting a new era for web animation. The “skip intro” stigma of the past is being replaced with useable, purposeful motion made with web standards. It’s a great time to be exploring web animaiton.

I’ve been teaching workshops and giving conference talks on interface animation for the web for the last couple of years. I’m thrilled to be putting all of the knowledge I’ve gained through my experience, and more, into book form.
