We are lucky to have so many wonderful sponsors and exhibitors at this year’s DesignOps Summit–and we thought you might like to get to know them better! We’ve asked all of them some questions in the coming weeks that get at the heart of why they’re passionate about DesignOps, what it’s like to work with them, and what makes their products and services special to Design and Research Operations professionals.

Next up: Daniel Demel, Design Lead from Frontify

Rosenfeld Media: Why are you sponsoring this year’s DesignOps Summit?

Daniel Demel: Designers are a key audience for us. Frontify was created to connect users across disciplines and distances through a centralized platform, enabling them to create, manage, and share all aspects of a brand to the fullest extent. We’re always exploring ways to enhance or introduce features, and the face-to-face opportunity to share what we have to offer is really exciting. Real-time feedback and discussions are integral to that process.

Rosenfeld Media: What excites you about Design and/or Research Operations?

Daniel Demel: As the best designers are systems thinkers, it should come natural for design leaders to give consideration to the system that designers are working in. Scaling-up a design team and providing flexible – but efficient – structures where creativity can happen is an exciting challenge that’s top of mind for us.

Rosenfeld Media: What is it like for Design and Research Operations people to work at your company/organization?

Daniel Demel: There’s a lot of autonomy for designers at Frontify. To ensure that design runs smoothly throughout the company, individuals need to be capable of adapting to a dynamic work setup while maintaining and eye on the big picture. This is something a design lead needs to support; putting trust in the people within the team, and taking the wheel when goals are getting out of sight.

Rosenfeld Media: What is your company culture like, who would they work with, and who are the champions?

Daniel Demel: We’re doers and thinkers that value progress, creativity, and extraordinary results. Our employees are as diverse as the customers we strive to empower. With a list of clients spanning various industries, company sizes, and locations, we are continually developing new products and features that meet their unique and wide-ranging needs. Some of the exciting brands we work with include Facebook, Lufthansa, Allianz, and Vodafone.

Rosenfeld Media: What types of value and benefits does Frontify bring to the practice and to our community?

Daniel Demel: At Frontify our mission is to enable anyone to create powerful brand experiences. From establishing, documenting, sharing, and collaborating on your brand, we provide the best and most user-friendly platform out there. Improving efficiency, involvement, and consistency are at the heart of what we stand for, empowering brands to reach goals and exceed expectations.

Rosenfeld Media: What else should our community know about you?

Daniel Demel: Contrary to where many tech companies get their start, we’re headquartered in Northeastern Switzerland. Founded by St. Gallen native and CEO Roger Dudler in 2013, we have since expanded to include an office in Frankfurt, Germany, and most recently a third location in the heart of New York, NY. We truly believe that all brands deserve a centralized home – a living, single source of truth where they can evolve and involve everyone in a company – which is why we offer a range of plans, all the way from a free option to tailored enterprise solutions.
