We are lucky to have so many wonderful sponsors and exhibitors at this year’s Advancing Research conference–and we thought you might like to get to know them better! We’ve asked all of them some questions in the coming weeks that get at the heart of why they’re passionate about ResearchOps, what it’s like to work with them, and what makes their products and services special to Design and Research Operations professionals.

Kate WeirKATE WEIR, SVP SALES & GENERAL MANAGER, NORTH AMERICA  AT iMOTIONS

Rosenfeld Media: Why are you sponsoring the Advancing Research conference?

Kate Weir: UX researchers are our primary client base. Learning about trends and challenges in the space allows us to continue enhancing our biosensor research products and services for this community. We’re also looking forward to creating more awareness for methods like Eye Tracking and Facial Expression Analysis and the unique insight they provide during user interactions. The conference format and program should be great for having one-on-one conversations and hearing a variety of industry perspectives from the exciting speaker line-up.

Rosenfeld Media: What excites you about Research and/or Research Operations?

Kate Weir: It’s always exciting to see research fuel the innovation of novel digital and physical products that can improve people’s lives. We’re particularly excited about the unique and additive role eye tracking and emotion research contributes to that work. These tools are being used more and more to answer today’s research questions and to explore how UIs can be adaptive to emotional response in the future.

Rosenfeld Media: What value does your company bring to the practice and our community?

Kate Weir: Our platform allows researchers to understand exactly what users are looking at and interacting with (or not), and how they respond emotionally to a variety of UX experiences. This provides unprecedented levels of human behavior understanding – allowing researchers to access subconscious drivers of attention and behavior that often can’t be observed or stated. The result is the creation of more effective and enjoyable user experiences.

Our goal at iMotions is to simplify advanced biosensor research by providing the necessary hardware, software, and training UX researchers need to incorporate these techniques in their research toolkits.

Rosenfeld Media: What else should our community know about you?

Kate Weir: We are a team of researchers ourselves with over 10 neuroscience PhDs on our full-time staff.
