The program for Advancing Research 2020 is here, including 3 full-day workshops. We’re so excited to share the program for our inaugural Advancing Research conference (New York; March 30-April 1, 2020)! We’ve selected a lineup of diverse, talented speakers including Priya Parker, Leah Buley, Leisa Reichelt, Nathan Shedroff, and more.

Times have changed for user and customer researchers. We’ve moved past simply seeking recognition and validation. Now we’re grappling with strategic challenges, like working with the C-suite, professionalizing research, and achieving insight at scale. These trends and new challenges mean it’s time to reconsider research’s great potential. Advancing Research is the first US-based conference designed to meet the needs and demands of this new generation of researchers.

If you’re thinking of attending, keep in mind that our early bird registration deadline is January 10. Groups of three or more get 10% discount when registering concurrently (enter code GROUP). And if you work in government, education, or a non-profit, we’re keeping the prices low right up until the conference takes place. That’s it for now; hope to see you in 2020!

What’s special about Advancing Research?

  • A research-driven conference: Practicing what we preach, we’ve designed the conference and its program based on two robust phases of user research, involving nearly 1,000 responses and analysis from over a dozen highly-experienced researchers.
  • A diverse, compelling speaker line-up: We carefully select speakers for their ideas and for the diverse perspectives and experiences they represent. 40% of our conference proposals have come from members of under-represented groups; 17% come from new speakers.
  • Presentations that set the standard for quality: Once we select our speakers, we work with them iteratively over months to prepare and rehearse their presentations.
  • Our attendees shape and lead the industry: You’ll meet more research leaders, high-level research managers, and experienced research practitioners than you’ll find at perhaps any other conference.
